The South African Stomaltherapy Association (SASA)is a Non-For Profit organisation established for the purpose of maintaining optimum care for individuals with ostomies, incontinence, draining wounds, fistulae, draining and feeding tubes and actual or potential alterations in tissue integrity.
SASA provides a corporate identity for nurses who care for people with stomas, wounds or incontinence, fistulae, draining wounds and/or alteration to tissue integrity.
SASA provides a platform for ongoing education of nurses practicing Stomaltherapy through workshops, masterclasses, online webinars and clinical papers.
SASA supports the University of the Free State (UFS) Introduction to Stoma Care Course.
SASA is represented nationwide through regional Stoma Care Societies, namely KwaZulu Natal Stomaltherapy Society, Western Cape Stomaltherapy Society, Eastern Cape Stomaltherapy society, Gauteng Stomaltherapy Society and the Free State Stomaltherapy Society.
